For the past few months, everyone seems to be obsessed with how great the Daredevil and X-books have been the past year. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy those books as well, but I feel this book is horrendously overlooked because of them. Bendis and Maleev are doing something special with the Moon Knight corner of the Marvel U. The book has been asking the questions of “How crazy is this guy?” and “How is this going to affect those around him?” With this issue, we get some answers. His conflicting personalities creating a “One-man Avenger” crusade has cost someone dearly and I’m excited for the ramifications because of it. This book has Count Neferia, a crazy off the wall protagonist, and hilarious quips about how Spiderman’s webshooters are the “Smoke on Water” guitar riff of marvel gadgets. (anyone can copy them) All I ask is people give this book a chance.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. I think that the main reason why this book works is Maleev’s art. It has a dreamy, surreal quality which does a great service to the story. It wouldn’t work as well with “normal” superhero art.
