With the first arc down of this pretty well written story Matt Fraction finishes this with not alot of questions. When I finished reading this I wondered, “What happened to Silver Surfer, What was Loki trying to do, and how the hell did Thor grow a beard so fast?” I was hoping to get something more out of the next arc but it’s gonna go into tie-in mode with Fear Itself. The art for this book remain very very good and I never had any problems with it and now I really wanna go buy Asgardian armor. Let’s all pray that Olivier Coipel and Laura Martin stay on art. I’ll give the first six books as a whole a four out of five.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Why did Odin want the Worldheart to begin with? If it was explained, it was never emphasized, and I’ve forgotten.

  2. Seriously. How did Thor grow that beard so damned fast? I had to check to see if I skipped a page.

I liked this arc, but this issue seemed rushed, and that it could have used a few more pages, if not another issue. Hard to top Odin headbutting Galactus last issue though. I’ve read a lot of complaints about this series. I have loved it thus far, but, Galactus is one of my favorite characters, so there’s the WOOOOOO FUCK YEAH, GALACTUS! factor. I would have liked to have seen more of the preacher character as the new herald. Cool idea, but just one panel with a generic character design was kinda meh.
