And so, The Mighty is over. This was a fantastic series. It built slowly, but the suspense was fantastic. We saw Alpha One slowly reveal his true colors and we saw Cole Porter turn into the man he always wanted to be.

For a final issue, with the same amount of pages as a normal comic, I felt this wrapped up everything nicely. The fight was full fist-pumpingly good, the way Porter dealt with the situation was smart and the aftermath was oddly fitting. The last page made me smile.

I don’t know if we’ll ever see these characters again. But, thankfully, Tomasi and Champagne have set it up so that if the desire for another series was there, they have the material to continue this great story.

The Mighty was a great surprise of 2009. Although it didn’t make most people’s lists of top comics, it was something I looked forward to every month. I had no idea where the story was going to go and it constantly surprised me. Thank you.
