I admit in my insular Marvel Zombie existence I didn't know this existed till I was in a different comic shop today that my normal store. As this was not the store with my reserve box I browsed beyond my normal shores. Previous trips to this store had lead me to Saga, Manhattan Projects and Willow, but these I already new existed either from this sites podcasts or the in house adds in the Buffy books. In any event the spectacular Alex Ross cover caught my eye, but he has been doing covers for a lot of books for some time now, but I do have a fondness for the pulp heroes so I looked inside... more Alex Ross (as a Marvel fan I am a little miffed that he couldn't have squeezed out some space for interiors for Avengers/Invaders or Torch that he covered for Marvel a few years back...). I proceeded to buy and read the issue and I'm hooked, even if Ross only does the interiors for this one issue I want to see more of these heroes fighting an American Fascist government. I particularly like that one corrupt cop seen arresting a Hispanic artist who is likely a descendent of Zorro is clearly modeled on Rondo Hatten (who was also the inspiration for the giant Nazi thug in the Rocketter Movie)
