Continually amazing, I’m going to track down a copy of The Marvelous Land Of Oz for comparative reason.  I imagine it will suffer from not having Skottie Young illustrations.

  1. Wow, this is halfway done already. Guess the collection can’t be far off.

Thanks for your early reviews as always!

  2. @flapjaxx: I really hope they go through the entire Baum catalog.  I usually skip the hardcovers of a series, and wait for trade paperbacks, but I want to be as supportive as I can of this series.  It’s continually awesome.

    And you’re welcome.

  3. On the Marvelous Land of Oz note, it’s pretty easy to find cheap collections of Oz books.  I got the first 7 in one hardcover (leather bound, gilded edges, ribbon bookmark… the works) for I think about $15 from Borders.  I can only assume Ozma of Oz (the third one) will be green lit by Marvel, so this might the way to go.

On a side note, I enjoyed "Marvelous" a lot more than "Wonderful."  Can’t wait for the hardcover.

  4. @slockhart: There’s a really good bookstore down the street from our store that sells a lot of used books.  I’ll be checking them out first, but if they don’t have it, I’ll be happy to do a Border’s run.

I also agree that I am enjoying this one is more fun than Wonderful.  Wonderful has a lot more baggage as a project.
