This is a fantastic book for anyone who enjoyed Matt Wagners work on Sandman Mystery Theatre. Covering past eras of the DC/Vertigo Universe (even running into Dian Belmont in this issue!) this is a pretty straight up mystery with mystical aspects, but strong writing gives the villain and flashback scenes good depth.

The art is my favorite part of the work, its a retro look reminiscent of the style SMT took, though much cleaner and deals with line more, not better as Guy Davis is very good, but just a different take on a more oldstyle look

If you don’t mind mixing in a dash of magic with your mystery this is a great book to pick up, and this arc is only in the second issue and without having read any of the first ten issues of this series nothing is lost towards enjoying the story.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
