Joe Hill has done it again. This well written comic from The son of Stephen King is a well crafted story with gorgeous art by Gabriel Rodriguez immerses the reader in an creepy world where you just have to feel sorry for the Locke kids. How much can you survive? This story is impossible to predict, and shocking in the same manner as The Walking Dead. While not quite as compelling as that story I would put it in my list of books that compare.

Read this book. You won’t be sorry. Did I mention it smells good too? Oh how I love the smell of a great book. E-comics will never be able to replicate that.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. glad to see this series is as good as the last. i loved the first mini and cant wait for this to be collected. Agreed on the smell of actual paper and ink.

  2. Isn’t Locke & Key a joke name for a cop tv show? I think I heard about it in some movie or tv show… or was it Lock & Load?

  3. IDW always smells good.

  4. I liked this first issue more than the previous series first issue. The last page was so heartbreaking. Plus the covers on this series are gorgeous and well thought out.

  5. Isn’t it awesome, the covers actually have something to do with the story!
