This issue is... well GIANT. Everything about this issue is great. The art is absolutely phenomenal. Gabriel Rodriguez's art is really showcased during initial battle scene between Ty and the shadow monster, both of which are looming over 50 feet tall. Rodriguez fills the first half of the book with splash pages.  This sells that there are two giant people seriously throwing down to the reader.  I really liked it and thought it was beautiful. The downside to this is it makes this issue a really quick read but I didn't mind one bit.  Each splash page could have easily been a panel on a page. However, it would take away from the effect. I went back and just absorbed the art.

I can't give all the praise to Rodriguez because Joe Hill's writing is as great as always.  This issue I think the reader gets to go more into Tyler's head.  You get to see what makes him tick, that he has a strong need to protect his family. All the Locke kids kind of grow up a little in this issue.  If you're not reading Locke & Key then you're doing yourself a disservice. Pick this up, plain and simple.
