Here's the thing. I have never heard of ANY of the characters in this book. I came in with no expectations, and no baggage. This book was painful to read. Plain and simple. This issue reads as a middle of a story arc issue and somewhere around #73 in an ongoing series. Paul Levitz somehow expects new readers to know all the characters already with the exception that every character has a meaningless character description attached to them. Some criticized Justice League #1 because only 3.5 members were shown. However it introduced readers to Batman and Green Lantern and made readers want to know more. I write this immediately after spending 13 minutes reading this book. I can't name a single character, or tell you who the bad guy is, or tell you what was teased to bring me back to issue #2. Worst book of the new 52.
