When you long for the mediocrity of issue one, this is when you know you have a problem. Kevin Smith’s writing isn’t bad per-say, it’s just not suited towards The Green Hornet.

The art is servicable enough, but still retains that awful photoshop look that borders on Ultimates 3 territory.

It’s not that the story is bad. It’s just unbelievably slow. At the price Dynamite is asking per issue, one would assume they’d pick up the pace. And, to make matters worse, this has all been done before when Now Comics had the license back in the 90’s. A current Green Hornet who is related to Britt Reid and a female Kato? A series set in the early years of the Hornet? A story of a Green Hornet in the future? All done by Now Comics and done more interesting.

Pick it up? Only if you can find it discounted.
