Honestly prevails with this issue of Justice Society of America; what started out as a fun romp that almost seemed to reignite the brilliance of Geoff Johns’ run on the book has finally hit a brick wall and shattered into a thousand tiny pieces. Marc Guggenheim’s plot in this issue felt incomprehensible, and despite not being able to identify why, the characters felt woefully out of touch with one another, almost like their roles were being phoned in. The artwork on the other hand maintains some of the flair that Scott Kolins has enjoyed over the last few years, but his painted style is starting to become frustrating now in its inability to maintain focus on the story; characters are starting to look strange and the general feeling of the book is wrong. Hopefully this is just a blip on the radar, because this book has been great fun so far, while this issue alone was an absolute waste of time.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 3 - Good
