I gave a middling review to the first part of this story, the JLA Special, and a poor review for the issue of Green Arrow that followed. This next part of the storyline, however... just a damn mess. The story by J.T. Krul is full of contrived dialogue like "I'm taking you all down this time, and everything you care about!" The art by Geraldo Borges is stiff yet competent enough, but the choice of illustrating exactly how miserably little Lian, Arsenal's daughter, suffered in the building collapse that killed her was a bad, bad decision. The final nail, the hallucinatory return of Roy Harper's dealer from the 1970s, was unforgivable and trite beyond belief. This housecleaning in the Arrow corner of the DCU is being poorly undertaken, and it reminds me of many a weak DC Comic that I read in the 1980s that I believed they had trended away from.

Thank you for the review. Almost picked it up just to see what happened even though your review was what I was expecting.
