If you need to write a silver age story, get a silver age writer. That’s the premise to this issue of JLA. In this faces of evil issue we meet Starbreaker. He is an actual Silver-age villain with ties to Rann and Adam Strange, Starbreaker last seen in the fantastic Adam Strange mini series.
Onto the story, Len Wein (classic sliver age writer) crafts a story set in the satellite era of the JLA, this is the what some would say to be the definitive JLA. The big 7, plus Elongated Man, Green Arrow and Black Canary, Hawkman and the Atom. Its was great to see Orin Aquaman back in the mix, and as much as the character is sometimes seen as hokey, he’s always good for a punch in the gut.
I wonder where this storyline is going? What happened to Starbreaker after the Adam Strange issue? He had lost his corporal form. What does this have to do with the Milestone characters? And for that matter Doctor Light?
Wait a sec… they all have ties to Thanagarian technology. And Hawkman was on the last page of the last issue of JLA. INteresting.
