Another issue of our stalwart former JLIers getting dismissed by the superheroic community. Whoo hoo. It's nice to see Jaime in action, but the resolution of the OMAC fight seemed kind of cheap, given what a big threat OMACs are supposed to be. And Jaime learning about Max through his scarab's AI brings up another plot hole: Do other heroes who are either robotic or have access to AIs also remember who Max is?
There's nothing in this issue that packs a punch quite Booster finding out how the world thinks Ted died last issue. The closest we get is Max screwing with Bea's head at checkmate, which is an effectively unnerving scene. Overall, though, the whole "JLI gets dismissed and attacked" cycle that's been relentlessly dominating this serious so far is getting exhausting fast.
The art is... Fine. There are a few awkward panels, and Dagnino still can't draw Max's face for some reason, but overall it's fine, and the OMACs look suitably menacing. And that cover is absolutely fantastic.
