Any issue of any comic that includes Magog's head exploding not once, but twice will be my pick of the week!
To me Magog was a DC version of the antihero Wolverine. Not terribly deep as a character, shoved down your throat in four series at a time, but unlike Wolverine, he was never amusing and there was really nothing to like.
Since he broke up the JSA into two mediocre groups, showed up in Shield, and his own title (which probably meant canceling a book I was reading), I've held a bit of a grudge, I guess. I just hope this is the last we see of him to tell the truth.
I like Kingdom Come, but I want it to remain Elseworlds / Multiverse, not continuity. Marvel did the decade of depression, and turned me into a 2 book a month reader, down from over a dozen.
Finally about Magog, I'd rather read a Lobo ongoing, or Cyb---, no, not Cyborg... never mind!
The previous reviewer (Sakuuya) had some complaints that I don't agree with... one of which is the cover, which isn't great, but it shows Max Lord celebrating someone's death, likely Magog's. It's completely representational of what Max must have been feeling, hell I wanted to pop open a bottle of champagne after seeing Magog die twice!
I also have to disagree with Sakuuya about issue 12, which I thought was not as good as this issue, but not "bullshit" by any means.
I also disagree about how Jaime Blue Beetle is written in the beginning of this story. Jaime was saying what I feel about Magog. In fact, I'm actually starting to like the new(ish) Blue Beetle... it only took 4 or so years, but finally Winick is able to make him interesting enough to me.
Aside from these few points, I agree with her review and we both enjoyed the issue it seems.
I wasn't sure how I was going to like this book when it first started, but now it's top of my stack each and every week it comes out. This book is what Justice League should be, yet still isn't, and I hope we get an ongoing out of it. The art and writing have been consistently good, and some really great covers for that matter.
Now on to figure out what order to read the Bruce Wayne books in...

You got a different cover than I did. I agree that the Max cover on this site is great, but this is the cover I got, which is not nearly as good: http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/8876/tnjlgenerationlost01300.jpg
I got the one with Magog about to put his spear through Captain Atom’s head… I’m pretty glad I didn’t get the cover pictured above.
Really? I think that the Max cover is way better than the Magog one. It suits the book.
