I enjoyed JLD a lot. This is one of those ideas that could have gone either way, really, but so far it’s looking good. It’s got a steep learning curve, though, with many of the characters introduced vaguely but without much detail, while some of the book is devoted to the Justice League’s first published action as a group. In that way it’s a little like the antithesis of JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 in execution, favoring giving the whole team, as well as an ominous threat, some page time.

The plot is mysterious, the characters colorful, and the writing solid. Yet again, the New 52 offer up a solid horror book.
