This issue was full of “fuck yeah Aquaman” moments and I loved it! Arthur is stuck at the end of a war where neither side has ever really expected him. This provides great character moments for Aquaman, and forces him to make choices he clearly isn’t very comfortable with. The Throne of Atlantis story ends with both Aquaman and the entire Justice League in interesting positions going forward. My only real issue was that Orm and Vulko both sort of laid down in the end. Blah blah blah Atlantian Law and everything, but come on guys, fight a little to keep things going.

What really stood out to me in this issue was the art by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado. Man there were some pretty pictures in this one! Epic panels galore throughout this book! Between panels the Justice League boom tubing to the rescue and bad ass Aquaman moments it’s clear this is the right art team for this book.

Overall Throne of Atlantis was a fun crossover from Johns that wraps up nicely and makes things interesting going forward. Side not, but those Channel 52 things are really dumb and I hate that they’re in every DC book this week

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
