This issue was pretty underwhelming. The pacing kinda reminded me of what goes on in a prelude of an event. The story starts off with what I assume is how Graves got his powers then switches over to Steve Trevor attempting to escape captivity. These parts of the story isn't the problem for me. What was, though, was the few pages of Aquaman resquing a sinking ship then being ridiculed by the press then we jump to a meeting of the JL for Batman to discuss Graves. All this leads to Superman to be revealed as a reporter and Aquaman to say, "I hate reporters." Really all that happens is the "we need to trust each other if we're going to be a team" thing is played up more then they get their butts handed to them, some of them off panel which was another problem for me. I'm just dissapointed that the action hasn't started yet and there's just more group conversation. Though Jim Lee did a great job on art and that was the highlight of this issue.
