We are three issues into the Sif-era of JIM. So far the story hasn’t reached the heights of the guffaw-inducing first issue, but this issue, with Sif and the previously lost Asgardians in Manhattan comes the closes. Kathryn Immonen has a great handle on Sif’s voice, and it that is most evident when Sif is dealing with regular people. Often played for laughs, it shines light on the reality for people living with superheroes and other myths in their midst. Immonen also does a decent job writing for the Superior Spider-Man, and his appearance here feels more organic than the cover might imply.

However, what keeps me coming back issue after issue is the art of Valerio Schiti and Jordie Bellaire’s colors. This book is dynamic and bright, and the appearance of classic Kirby-esque monsters makes this particular issue a nice treat.

JIM may be the most secret success right NOW.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
