Another great issue! Definitely appreciated a “breather” issue after the breakneck forward momentum of the Fear Itself arc. The He’ll Puppy is a great touch and it’s clear that it’s relationship with Loki will be good fun. Though there was very little action and hardly any of the cunning machinations of Loki (and Ikol) this was clearly an issue written for new readers so the lack of action was not a huge issue.
Its a shame that Mitch came back for a relatively action-free issue, his pencils fit this title perfectly and 8, for one, was really excited to see him back–he blends the real world with the fantastical beautifully, his work on the Hell Puppies was subtle was had me falling in love with the little guys even as Thori was spewing fire all over the Internet.
Not the best issue, it really felt inconsequential, but it was a fun Christmas story even if it felt like the breaks were hit for new readers
