Remember how in No Country for Old Men, Sigur is a unstoppable force of evil?
Jonah Hex is pretty much the unstoppable bounty hunter. Wrong him and you are fucked six ways from Sunday (I don’t know what that means but it sounds appopriate). Now just imagine a series where it’s nothing but this guy in one and done stories with changing artists every month keeping it fresh. The plot is wildly different every month (amazingly so) but Jonah Hex remains the same. And I enjoy the hell out of it. Take this issue for example. Gorgeous art. An interesting train heist. Dead Pinkertons. Sounds good to me.

And remember how vicious Sigur was? Him and Jonah have some things in common.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Hey, I picked this issue up because of the fine ass cover and I’m just curious; what Trade would you recommend that has these one and done stories of Mr Hex that make for a nice collection?

  2. All of the Palmiotti/Gray ones do except for Six Gun War I believe.

    Here is the first:

I think that one has all Luke Ross art though. But it’s all one and dones.

And you don’t need to get the trades in order (just don’t get Six Gun War first).

  3. Thanks, looking forward to picking this one up!!
