The first issue from this interesting concept for a series focuses on, of course, the Joker and it’s a good Joker story at that. Its a study of what the Joker contributes to the world of Batman. There is a bit of a twist to this so it’s refreshing and somewhat atypical, particularly for it’s lack of violence. The art is nothing great, but Alex Sanchez draws a half decent close-up Joker in a manic doodle kind of a style but reveals his weaknesses when drawing wide shots.

This book probably won’t blow you away but it’s a decent start to an intriguing series.
