This series has been progressing very slowly. Over the past six issues, it has introduced a number of characters and developed the setting in great detail. This issue begins a new arc which promises to tie the disparate parts of the izombie world together.
In the issue, the different characters and groups are set up in seemingly disconnected ways--the "Wereterrier" meets a stranger at a comics shop, the two vampire killers are ambushed, Ellie the Ghost learns to use her powers, and Gwen the zombie eats a new brain. I hope that with all of the set-up, the series will gain some momentum.
As always, the Allred art is gorgeous, and because of the slow build so far, the characters are well-rounded and familiar. Hopefully, this arc will make use of all of the set-up before and in this issue--the writing has been good so far, but something needs to happen to make it feel like this book isn't just a vehicle for Allred's art.
