Yeah, I’d definitely say that Mark Waid is back.

 I mean this isn’t the
Waid I’m used to, this book is more brutal than Empire, but this is a
great story. I love that you can totally see why :
A) these people are
villains
B) why they are constantly getting out smarted by the
heroes.

I absolutely loved the first panel with the Plutonian in it.
His complete and utter disregard for these people was amazing. They
were below dog shit to him and you could tell. I love how utterly
scummy they were written in this issue.  I’m your fri*splorch* indeed.
I have no idea what the wig scene was about, but that was honestly the
weirdest and most creepy thing about this issue.

Love the art and the
way it looks like a heavier inked version of Curt Swan.
