There are a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot of word balloons in this issue.  This issue is a primer for those who want to start reading Invincible without picking up the previous trades.  But, aside from the return to the original costume, there’s no original story here.  It’s cool to see Ottley and Walker in the same book.  But Ottley’s art puts Walkers to shame here.  Atom Eve looks like she suffered some sort of stroke in a few of these panels.  Maybe’s it’s an allusion to her near death fight with Conquest, but I don’t think so.

Above the title, the cover reads “Probably the best superhero comic book in The Universe.”  And probably is partially crossed out.  I have certainly recommended Invincible to hundreds of customers saying “This is definitely my favorite superhero title on the market right now.”  But this issue was definitely the worst of the series.
