Those words are equal parts “exciting” and “cringe-worthy”.

Let’s be honest. At it’s heart all cross-overs are marketing devices to help boost sales. What separates the good ones from the bad ones are their ability to transcend the “stunt-like” nature and actually deliver on the story

Kirkman does something here that clearly shows his awareness of the typical cross-over tropes. The set-up is pretty tried and true. But he finds little ways to inject some originality into the setup. I was surprised to see how level-headed and understanding both Invincible and Wolfman were in their “confrontation”.

Throw in a good cliff-hanger and I’m ready to see how it plays out in the pages of “Astounding Wolfman”.
