This book was great. It was such a surprise and such a good concept that I loved it. Before Monday this week, I didnt even know the book existed until seeing it on the “This Week’s Comics” section here on the site. The solicit for it sounded pretty interesting, and I knew that many people had been raving about Nick Spencer’s work, so I thought about giving it a shot. And it was really worth it. Nick Spencer crafted a great high concept story about infinite alternate lives that people can instantly take part of. Its a story that could easily get bogged down in confusing narration and explanation, but it was written really well. By the end of the issue, I felt that I really had a good understanding of this grand idea, and I was really excited about reading more of it. And not only was Nick Spencer’s story great, but Khristian Ward’s art was fantastic as well. I had never seen his art before today, but I love his style. There were a couple great splash pages in the issue that I thought he did really well on. What I didnt expect in this comic however was the few pages where it wasn’t Khristian Ward’s art, but a short photo comic. In any other situation, I dont think this would have worked, but it was great for this. It really felt like an infomercial of sorts for this Infinite Vacation, and I thought it worked perfectly. So I really can’t wait for the next issue of this to see where the story goes and how it evolves. Definitly one of the best new books I’ve read in a while.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Cool write up! 🙂

I agree that the book did a great job of making this rather complex idea very accessible.
