“Ah, why’s it always Mr. Negative these days?  It’s because of the deficit isn’t it?  I miss the old days when the economy was vibrant and I had to fight Mr. Positive.  They were happier times, with occasional showtunes.  Mr. Positive, now, there was a guy who could inspire his goons with a pep talk.  I was as shocked as anyone when I heard about his suicide.  Seemed so out of character.”

This was very nearly a five star book for me.  The story is more fun than you’d think, given the premise of a dying man given abilities for the last thirtyish days of his life.  And a lot of the pages in this book were beautiful, but there were some anatomic issues with Spider-Man.  (This was not a problem for me, but I don’t think I’ve ever noticed Parker’s ears showing through his costume before), I also don’t like the way Turnbull and/or Moll draw The Thing.  Otherwise, this was a solid book with some of the best non-Bendis written Spider-Man in ages.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
