One of the things I’ve dug about Milligan’s run is that between storylines, he often teams up with Simon Bisley and writes a great one-shot to sort of have a breather between arcs. This issue is no different as it finds Constantine and Epiphany each sharing a werewolf story from their past that has more in common than they think. Think of it as the Rashomon of lyncanthropy. This issue is great fun, and the art by Bisley fits the story perfectly. I love his art on this title as his exaggerated style can really make the monsters something to behold. If you’ve been interested in checking out this title, give this issue a shot. It certainly shows what the series is capable of and gives you a great idea of what series is all about, both tonally and from a story perspective. For a long time fan like me, I found a lot to like, and me thinks I’m not alone in that.
