In a series that has been all about quick wit and charm - much to the delight of its readers, it was incredibly refreshing to see a touching tale of two brothers in Hawkeye this week. Francavilla's art used a masterful grid to tell the story for most of the book, and when he strayed from that design, the impact was extremely poignant. Fraction does an excellent job of pairing the quick dialogue that has become the trademark of the book with some particularly heavy moments in the Barton family history, and the final panel provides the perfect capstone to this wonderful, isolated tale of loss and reunion.
