This series started out with a bloody bang and from there went into a bit of a lull in my opinion. That was until this issue. I really wasn’t digging the demon aspect or had any idea where Wagner was going to take it up until now. This issue brought many plot points together, not only from this Grendel story but for the whole Grendel universe as well. I am excited to see how this story is going to end and what effects it might have on Grendel stories in the future. The story kept me intrigued and rapidly turning pages. The art was beautiful black, white and red as usual but the design of the demon really bothered me (the only reason for the 4/5 art), especially the double pupils in each eyeball and crab arms. I don’t know how else it could have looked to make it more appealing, but I just wasn’t digging it. I can’t wait until the final issue. This would be a great story to read in trade (it’s also good in issues).

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
