This comic features White Lantern Rayner's first outing with the Templar Guardians. Though Rayner is mistrustful of the new Guardians, he is convinced by Hal Jordan that someone needs to keep an eye on them while Hal goes about the difficult process of re-building the Corps. On their first outing, Rayner and the Templar Guardians venture off for the edge of the Universe to see a massive cyst that has developed around a piece of the universe that preceded their own. A fight with a local breaks out. Rayner uses his White Lantern powers to defend the Guardians but in doing so, shatters the cyst, revealing a colossal humanoid. If you've read Green Lantern #21, then you know this is the being known as Galactu... I mean Relic! Justin Jordan weaves a solid tale while Brad Walker & Andrew Hennessy draw a visually striking book. Definitely the strongest of the new Green Lantern books but also the most steeped in Johnsian era story lines and themes.
