The Reach’s assault on Odym continues! You know, part of what really loses me sometimes in this story is that I just really don’t like the design of the Reach scarabs. They just look a little…overdone?

True to form, this one’s got a bunch of ring-slinging action, and from several quarters; it’s flashy, but somehow it doesn’t have the sort of energy I’d like to see in such a big scene. Sometimes things seem a bit…busy. But I’d guess that drawing big battles like this and making them work well to boot is tricky, especially with so many different alien species involved.

The writing continues to be light but effective for what it is. I wonder if the Blue Lanterns think they sound completely ridiculous? Because they do. “All Will Be Well” is not exactly a stunning battle cry.

I feel like somehow this plot might have been a missed opportunity, however; I just can’t quite articulate why.
