This issue brings the series back to the storyline set up before the Boodika fill-in arc. I loved how this issue touches base with all of our main characters, and lets us see how they were spending their time off. Little vignettes like this really helps the reader connect with the characters, which helps after our break from them. Next we see the Lanterns gathered and given their mission to track down missing yellow rings. I loved how Kyle stepped up and acted like a true leader here. It was great to see his character develop like that. Also, we get introduced to a new villain, and see more of Mongol’s plan to dominate the Sinestro Corps unfold. He has become the perfect successor to Sinestro in the leadership of the Corps.

The art fits the story here. the horror in the scenes with the new Sinestro members is drawn perfectly, and the scenes of the Lanterns gathering looked great as well. Most of the action was off panel, but the aftermath is portrayed in a way that really lets the reader imagine what happened.

Great start in this arc, and I am looking forward to seeing Mongol’s quest continue in future issues.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
