Johns has such a simple, straightforward, clear sense of how to weave a story. No better example than this and the last few/year’s worth of stories in Green Lantern.

I simply love reading his stuff! When you combine a steady read like this with such intense artistic efforts from Doug Mahnke, it’s a perfect storm!

Everything’s coming together in this arc. The storytelling doesn’t let my mind wander (as is prone with my limited attention span): the pictures are lush, detailed, and dark — emoting the easy pace of the dialogue.
