Very weird. After Judd left the book I was too in love with these characters to quit. While I didn’t mind the direction Kreisberg was taking, I felt the dialogue between the characters was cheese-cake & a little off.
This issue, however, kinda took me by surprise. The opening scene with Dinah & Ollie at the Marriage therapist was funny & entertaining! Then we get a hint of issues that Dinah has been neglecting, thus making her a character with something worth exploring, giving Ollie an opportunity to be there to support *her*, for a change. Then, everyone goes deaf which gives us another hilarious scene of Ollie reading the therapist’s notes in an attempt to communicate before he and Black Canary take to the streets to save the day. Andrew Kreisberg is no Judd Winick. I’ve accepted that, but I will admit he’s getting better. As far as Mike Norton’s art is concerned, he’s rock solid. Every issue he has gotten progressively better. His depictions of characters in action are dead on and the wat he draws facial expressions is on point as well.
This was going to be the last issue I bought of this series, but I think I’ll stick with it. I highly recommend checking it out if you stopped a couple issues ago.
