It’s good to see this book find its feet again and quite strange considering Winnick just spent six months destroying what was initially built so strong. Did this seem like the appropriate time to remind us how good this book can be just as you’re stepping out the door, Judd? You freek’n tease!

I’m tempted to make this my POTW in light of Conor’s current article on filler (great article btw), because this issue serves up character development like a well cooked steak, really allowing us a great view into the emotions and desires of Speedy and Dodger. I gained a lot from their interactions and I’m much more commited to believing in their relationship after this jaunt.

Ollie and Dinah tie this issue off, most importantly, acting as they should. It’s nice to see them not rushing cross country or cross the world and being slammed with cameo appearances from various DC characters, but, rather, having an oppurtunity to place themselves into the story. And Connor, just when we thought we’d gotten you back, we’re left at the end of this issue quite unsure if that’s the case.

So I’m riding this one out for a while because I like ‘the’ Arrow. I’ve dropped a lot of books lately and somehow this one made it thru. It’s a lot to do with my appreciation for Mike Norton (who also did some fine work on Trinity this week). I have a great admiration for his ability in making smooth transitions from artist to artist and constantly improving his work.

Welcome back GABC. We missed you.
