You know, I’m really surprised by this issue.  Not because it was overly good or bad, but because it takes the risk to do what many writers wouldn’t do.  While some writers would spend time wallowing in the descent of Oliver Queen, spending a whole year to cover the nuances of his fall from grace, J.T. Krul was able to capitalize and tell a compelling, emotional tale without getting bogged down in an overly drawn out arc.  It is a sign of Krul’s talent that he can tell so much story in so little space and still have it feel satisfying and complete.  The art does a serviceable job, but doesn’t really have much a wow factor.  It’s dark with a muted color pallet and some of the figures are a bit odd.  None the less, this is a great issue with real emotional impact and places Ollie Queen in a really compelling place.  Needless to say, I’m totally in for the next part of Ollie’s journey.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 3 - Good
