I can't recommend this book enough. The art is superb and the characters look like real people I have met in Afghanistan, right down to the red dye on the tips of the Taliban commander's beard. The weapons are drawn so well I can identify who is shooting what. The only problem is that a MK-19 will not arm at the distance they were shooting it, so it would be wholly ineffective to shoot zombies at less than 50 meters. I'm going on, but the story that is not based on the actual zombie attack is extremely realistic in both personal motivation and the way it is shown. I showed the first book to others I work with, who happen to be Army soldiers, and they all love it. The premise is simple: zombie attack on a small combat outpost in the Pashtun areas of Afghanistan. The first book set the stage for the inner workings and personal politics of the Marine platoon, and this book is the start of the zombie invasion. As someone who has spent almost 2 years jokingly "preparing" for a zombie attack in Pashtun areas of Afghanistan I cannot tell you how much you should be enjoying this book. If you're not reading this book, you should be.
