Chuck Dixon has been swinging for the fences monthly on "G.I. Joe," and in the parlance, he connects this month. "G.I. Joe 20" is very reminiscent of the legendary Larry Hama story "All the Ships at Sea!", issue #36 of his original Marvel run -- and that is among the highest compliments I can pay a book. The Joe team dispatches its aquatic contingent to track down a Cobra banking server on a deserted island, and along the way they ping a massive Cobra sub creeping in the depths loaded for bear with nukes. I don't even know if it's the story that's so important as much as the tone of Dixon's military-ese and the wonderfully clear art of Alex Cal. IDW is running the G.I. Joe franchise with confidence, and the results are fun to watch each week.
