I need to start reading Scalped. I just do. Because I'm really digging Jason Aaron's run on Ghost Rider. Having been a fan of the early 90's GR series as a youngin', it's been fun catching up with Danny Ketch, now cast in the role of the villian. Or the confused hero. A lot of villians are just misguided or confused and are "heroes" in their own heads. That seems to be how Aaron is writing Danny, and I like that aspect. Even though we as readers know that he is being duped into commiting evil, "The Ketcher" is still in the dark. I have a feeling that will change next issue because this is the penultimate chapter of the "Last Stand..." storyline. Things are being set up nicely for multiple confrontations to take place. Including brother versus brother. I've never really enjoyed Johnny Blaze as GR, and thought the revelation of he and Danny's relationship a few years back was too soap opera-esque. It was like the end of Uncle Tom's Cabin when Cassy discovers that Eliza is her daughter. No need, Harriet, no need. But Aaron has succeeded in making me believe in that relationship. As for Tang Eng Huat, I like his art. What he lacks in skill, he makes up for in energy. This kid loves to draw and it shows. Especially when he gets to draw two burning skeletons doing it. Perks of the job.
