While I have found Gillen's run on Generation Hope somewhat of a disappointment so far given how great his UXM and JIM are this issue definitely changed that. Gillen made me care about the character of Idie where before I had not. At first I just found her labeling of herself as a 'monster' rather irritating but this issue's focus on the events leading up to and directing following her actions in Schism #3 really got inside her head and made her stance relatable whist also seeing her developing her own opinions when exposed to tales of mutant prosecution by Prodigy. This very emotional issue was enhance by the great expressive range of Tim Seeley who portrayed anger joy and sadness perfectly.
