I picked this up solely for Gulacy’s art. I’ve never read a single GI Joe comic of any kind.

For a first taste? Pretty entertaining I have to say. I didn’t need to know any back story (a plus).

I’ve like other Chuck Dixon work and this one really crackles in his characterization of the Baroness. Her scenes are the best of the issue.

The military scenes were rather bland for me, but not the Baroness.

Gulacy’s art was 98% awesome. There were a few panels featuring oddly proportioned figures–but great otherwise.

FYI–if you haven’t read Gulacy’s Six From Sirius and Six From Sirius II — you should track down the issues. His art is f*cking amazing.
