Well I hate to say it but Matthew Sturges has written a good story . You have no idea how hard that is for me to admit after the awful mess he has made of JSA : All Stars . In this the one shot of GI Combat he writes a wonderfully engaging story featuring the Haunted Tank . There is nothing groundbreaking about this story but it is everybit as good as the old Robert Khaniger stuff that used to grace the pages of the original GI Combat . Believe me that is a huge compliment when you realise that Khaniger is one of the undisputed master of the war comic .Matthew , you should be proud of yourself , this story was everything I could ask for from a Haunted Tank story …Hell it was a damn good story . If you ever get the chance to revisit these charecters then I will be along for the ride as well .

The art was also a nice surprise from the cover by Geoff Darrow to the interior art by Phil Winsdale this book gets 5 stars . I have no idea how much research Mr Winsdale had to do for this book but it definetly showed in the finished product . The Stuart , Sherman andTiger tanks were just beautiful and I could spend all day poring over the little details in every panel .

This book was great and DC if you ever consider doing a monthly GI Combat book then I think you should get these two gifted artists to do it .I promise you I would gladly shell out my 3.99 with no gripes whatsoever .

Story: 5 - Excellent
