Hrm. This issue was actually two stories. Like Minds and The Prisonner. What bothered me is…that the first one actually sucked. For those who’ve seen the leaked pilot online, and know who Walter Bishop is, well, we see a young Bishop, ealry twenties being that awkward and strange university teacher and doing some experiences with an associate, whatever. But it was so awkwardly and poorly drawn that most of the time, I had no idea what was really going, especially when his associate does that kind of LSD trip or whatever and the Bishop shows the metal and it says continue like we’re supposed to be thrilled. It was really badly written too, the first story skipping from scenes…maybe not bad bad written, but an odd composition, nonetheless. That one left a sour test in my mouth and was relieved to see that it was only half the issue and that another story followed…

Wich was WAY better. The art was really improved, and the story was actually good, well, far more enjoyable than the first one. You followed that prisonner wich consciousness seemed to be shared with another guy, and I found myself being excited to learn more about that, either in the show or in the comic. The story was well written, making clear what was happening and following common sense when it comes to put panels on a page. The only reason I’m buying the next issue, other than I hate to base my opinion on one ish, unless its like Cable or something – yeah, I thought that was brainless boredom – is the last 2 two pages were it skips location and you see those astronauts and an apple floating around – the apple from the posters with the babies inside??- and a women finds herself not understanding a word that the others are saying to her. That was intriguing. Or maybe my judgement was impaired by how the first story was mediocre…whatever. I’m still pretty excited with the show, and I was sad they didn’t mention The Pattern or anything like it in the issue. I don’t see how they could do a 6 issues run – wich, is exactly the duration of the shows first season, if my calculations are exactes, 6 months, 24 episodes, yup – but we’ll see with the second issue, and by then the show is going to be well into his fourth or fifth episode, so we’ll have a better idea by then.

Now I have to rate this thing, wich is kind of difficult since one story sucked so hard and the other didn’t…no actually its not that hard.

Like Minds : Story : 2 – Average
                     Art : 1 – Poor
The Prisonner : see below,

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 3 - Good
