When I reviewed Muppet Show #1, all three iFanboys called me out on my declaration that “I wanted the characters to look like the characters from the show, and not the weirdly alien-like cartoons that they are in this book”. Their opinion was that if the comic renditions were too close to their felt counterparts it would be off-putting.
They were right.
Jeff Stokely’s art on the main story is a dead-on representation of Fraggles, and I…I don’t like it. Technically, it’s very well done. While I didn’t enjoy his art, it is very detailed, and, again, super true to the television show. Lizzy John’s colors are fucken breathtakingly well-done.
But, at the end of the day, I preferred both Katie Cook’s and Jefferey Brown’s art for adding their own style to the characters.
Storywise, this issue seems pitch perfect. I haven’t seen a Fraggle Rock episode in fifteen years, but the writing in all three stories feels right. Heather White has a great grasp of the characters’ voices, and for the way Henson always had each of the Fraggles overcome their personality flaws (Gobo’s impulsive, Wembley’s a pussy, and Red is a bitch) in every episode.
Both Cook’s, and Brown’s stories were also really amusing Fraggle antecdotes.
I’m not sure if I am going to continue reading this series, which is no fault of the creators. I really want to support as many of the kids’ comics coming out as I can, but, sadly, when it comes time to pick comics at the end of the night, the kids’ stuff always gets shoved to the bottom of the stack, and rarely read.

Did anyone get a copy of this in their store? My LCS didn’t have it.
Man, we had sixty copies on Wednesday. Maybe our chain got every copy?
