Of all the Flashpoint tie-ins, this was one of the ones I was most looking forward to. The Outsider semmed to be an enigmatic, powerful figure in the new universe. Who was this mystery man with a nice suit and a skin condition who apparently rules over India? Well, we got our answer, and it did not disappoint.

Michael Desai, superpowered orphan turned trillionaire¬†corporate mogul, comes across very well in this first issue. He’s written as a quick-witted, confident,¬†Machiavellian businessman, sort of like Lex Luthor with super strength, and it makes for a very interesting character. The main flaw in the story is that it’s only tangentially related to the Aqua-Wonder War. Still, there’s something about a badass in an expensive suit that just seems cool.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Don’t forget the invulnerability too!  (and maybe the ability to create gigantic vortexes(vortices?)

  2. I’ll see if this one’s still in the store…
