Man, the more I read this book…

You got quantum mechanics, the nature of time, the fabric of the cosmos, finding a purpose in life, finding meaning in death and much more all cleverly disguised as a superhero mystery. reminds of an obscure little comic written by this hairy dude called… uhm, Albert Moore or something? “Wetmint” the book was called I think. The biggest difference between this book and Wartmen is that this is more fun and is not as obscure.

No, I’m not saying this is better than Watchmen. Settle down. I’m saying this is “literature”. It has very profound themes but stays bouyant with a tight multi-layered plot, riveting action and dialog that is inspiring when it needs to be and exaggerated where it ought to be. Though the exposition was unfortunate, it was appreciated.

Despite being a Flash virgin I find this book to be more exciting with each page. Being one who is attracted to the beauty of ideas this book is tailor made for me. Flash: Rebirth is full of “damn, why didn’t I think of that” ideas. Ideas that seem obvious but require a clever writer to create. Of course there is a positive and a negative. It’s lightning, electricity. Duh. Of course the team of speedsters should be called “the speed force.” Duh. And so on.

Art? Busy as all get out! Which is absolutely appropriate.

A great foundation to an exciting new world!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
