So farewell Flash after (at least) 247 issues. Issue #1 of this series came out in June 1987; that's not a bad run (pun intended) when your title character's starts as an irresponsible teenager, wearing a costume borrowed from his dead predecessor. Admittedly, I came late to the party; my first issue of Flash was #46. For the last 200 months, Wally has been part of my life and comic book experience. Chunk and Impulse, Linda and Piper, Jay and Max and Morrello and Chyre et al have been and now have gone. And that's why this most recent run has been so disappointing for me; it takes the character out on a real "who cares" storyline, when I have cared for years and years. What happens in this final issue? Oh, the JLA and the Titans, Wally gets his mojo back, the kids get hoodwinked by Queen Bee, Linda nearly dies but doesn't and... ah, it doesn't matter any more. Good-bye then Wally, you may be victim in Dan Didios plan to reinstate Barry Allen, but you were my Flash, and I hope after Rebirth you still will be.
