  1. Was this really a review?

First: It’s made clear why Bart and Barry lose Prof. Zoom in the crowd. In fact that’s the whole point of the book. Thawne figured out how to use the speed force for other things except speed. So he ages and de-ages himself at will. Meaning he essentially shape shifted. That’s why they can’t locate him in a crowd.

Second: This isn’t an arc ending, it’s obviously a lead into Flashpoint.

Like or dislike the book please put some work into your review of it.

  2. I do not like Kolins art on this book. Why is Manapul so busy now? At least we got some of his art but only the talking heads parts.
Barry and Bart losing Zoom was not the worst part but I do agreed about the fighting. But that just goes back to Kolins’ art. This series kind of turned bad in a hurry which keeps happening with The Flash series. Surprising with Johns writing it happened but Johns is basically full time events now a days. Getting the same quality writing as the old JSA or the first run of The Flash might be long gone. I fear we might not get that on a ongoing from him again.

  3. @jnewcomb – First:  Losing Zoom in the crowd is WEAK!!  I don’t care that they made it clear why they lost him.  It’s piss poor story telling by Johns.   Second: Part Four of Four. Yah, that the end of an arc.

  4. @tschafer  I’m willing to cede the “arc ending” argument to you as it is technically sollicited that way, but the story quite obviously continues into Flashpoint.

However, you do not explain why you think the plot point of Bart and Barry losing Thawne’s trail is weak. I see no reasoning behind your criticism. You simply make a pronouncement.

In any case this is your subjectie opinion and I’m fine with that. I guess my preference is for a criticism in a review to be backed up by some sort of structurally sound argument. But everyone has a different style of writing…

  5. @jnewcomb – Ok brother, I think it’s weak because you, I and the average joe would come up with that.  Where is the genious storytelling that is expected from Geoff Johns? Where is the elaborate chase scene?  Where is the creative fight scene?  Where’s the excitment?   It not there.  It’s flat, boring.  It’s doesn’t matter if that stuff is possibly going to be in Flashpoint, I feel that Johns just needed to come up with a better arc ending then what he presented they world.  Hope he makes up for it in Flashpoint (haven’t read it yet).

  6. @tschafer  I disagree but I can follow your reasoning now.
